Marissa Michel is a junior Media Arts Production-BFA student at Emerson College. She worked as a 2024 Spring Creative Intern at the production company American High, and seeks to continue working in film development. She holds several leadership positions involving script development at Emerson College, including Submissions and Nominations Coordinator for EVVY44, and Co-Director of Development for Emerson Independent Video. She has worked as an executive producer, writer, and director, among other roles. Marissa has worked on over 16 short films, and the feature film Atrabilious (2024). Committed to excellence in filmmaking, her award-winning short film “The Lottery” (2024) premiered at the Eagle Theater in Georgia in October 2024. Her feature script “Milkweed” is a semifinalist in the 2024 Shore Scripts Feature Competition and a quarterfinalist in the 2024 Screencraft Drama Competition. A lover of great stories, Marissa is passionate about screenwriting, directing, and working with teams to prepare for every step of the filmmaking process from pre-production through post. She is a psychological thriller fanatic!
